I know it man, potholes aren't anything but bad news. Sorry to ghar about your bent rim. Years ago I dealt with a bad tire as well. It cost me more than 44 cents for sure  Angry

Yup, ya right! Money is money and sometimes we spent 5+ minutes trying to find that dug coin to find out it was just a corroded zinc penny  Angry

Lincolns are good and fun to find. Looking for that one with a mint error. Chances are I'll find it soon for so many we find everyday we go out for a hunt. Love to find wheaties as well  Wink

Nice find! As of Fridays close of the copper market, the cents dated 1982 and back are worth 2.7 cents each just for the copper. Sadly, the newer zinc cents are only worth .6 cents each. Not even face value. I save all my copper cents and my all my nickels as they are worth more for the metal in them than the face value.
Do go back to that pothole with your metal detector as the heavier coins tend to sink deeper. You never know what treasure is farther down.

Oh, yeah, I know that those pennies are worth more than face value. I'm keeping them all. Changing it in the bank or coin sorter is like losing money so to speak. I also know that the zincolns are sooo cheap that they start dissolving as soon as they are dropped on the ground or water.

The pothole had no more to give. I took it all and I double checked by removing the lose pavement on the top. Also, I was really lucky because not far from it a city pothole crew was covering them. By now my giving pothole is long gone.  Cry
