Here in the U.S. back in the olden times, companies such as coal mining had used trade coins for their workers. You could only use them at the company store for the goods and supplies you needed. Once used they would stamp them and you could not use them again. This was back in the late 1800 to early 1900 hundreds. hope this helps. let me know if you need more info. Teach
