Go Up Go Down

Not the Beatles song, just yesterday finds instead of finds from today. I was busy last night. But then again, it is always tomorrow here in Australia seeing as we are across the dateline.

Anyway, I received a call from SilverScoop76 and I need no excuse to go out hunting with him. I was in the process of searching my second sand pit playground of the morning when the phone rang. Thinking it was my lovely bride, I was hoping it did not mean the day would be cut short by some emergency at the fortress. But the model of cell phone I have talks to me and she told me who was calling. She has an Englishwoman voice. We arranged to meet later at a secret location - so secret that I could not find it at first. No kidding. It was a 100+ year old beach site that is very hard to get to but worth the trip.

My finds for the day are in the picture attached. There is a second photo of SilverScoop76 being very, very focused on a magnificent find. He always finds magnificent stuff.

The coins are from all of my site hunting during the day. All modern coins and a handful of fishing sinkers, one miniature pocket knife and one anodized aluminum wing nut that was too pretty to toss out. One of the coins was seriously nicked by a lawn mower. SilverScoop76 is highlighted in silhouette against a stunning Perth sunset. It rained fairly hard on and off all day.

We were both too tired for words at the end of the day. That boy will kill me yet. Oh, it hurts so good!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
