Another hello from South Africa!

Hi All,

I built my first VLF metal detector 30 years ago (Elektor Electronics #79 1981). Really looking forward to learning more and sharing in this fascinating hobby. I have also recently built a second metal detector (Delyta Pulse 2- Elbombaci) and I am especially grateful to Xavier, Ram and GoldGigger1950 for the tons of info they provided for this project. Also learnt a lot from KT315, vourvon and the rest of the Gurus out there on Geotech1 forum. Since Xavier resides in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, I would like to introduce myself to him. My ancestors came from Madeira, Portugal many years ago and I am really interested in any archeological finds that may date back to the 16th century. For example, certain relics in the forms of a cross, called a 'padrao' were lefty behind along our South African coastline as markers for the explorers of old. Would be interesing to find some more.

In case you have not noted, I am on holiday in England at this time, but stay in Gauteng.... I have been detecting with Xavier, don't tell him, but he is a great guy to have around Clapp
