Okay Okay lets give X a break here, I mean lets face it we all just go and buy a machine and then we still don't go detecting. Xavier is is actually building it himself and still doing more detecting than some of us.
Xavier, simple to compare the resistance of the first and the new one is it not? Also an expensive fitting/component is not immune from defects in my experience.
Any way I am sure you will get it figured out. What depth are you getting anyway? Are you sure you are not being over critical...expecting a bit too much maybe? Would love to see some depth tests. You could use those coins we took from the experiment that PGi.......OH SH@#$ .....there I go and shoot my mouth off again. :Smiley Tongue

You mean the coins that were in a tub yes I still have one or two of them LOL I will give you some depth tests but better yet I want to record the depth of actual finds (by far the most accurate) I use to be able to detect a 50c coin at 350mm in air now I'm down to about 200mm any way I'm working on it.

Regards Xavier

Shocked Shielding I just changed the plug NO GD has a good idea the old plug was giving me an intermittent problem the theory is that, that could have caused some damage to one of the chips. I did not have the time to look into it today as I was busy repairing the door at my sisters flat But I will have a look at it just now.

Worst thing you could do is replace the old connector and see if it goes back to the way it was.     If it does , know it down line some place. Cool

Actually I'm placing the same plug on the other detector that I use solely for development work and see if the problem pops up there too if not then GD is right and I will have to do some detective work how ever should the problem pop up there too then I know that there is something else to be looked at. The plug that I am now using comes from an old computer system I have three of them four pins and gold plated the old plug that I used was four pins and well I'm not sure chrome or what ever the Chinese use on their plugs so I will see in a short while in fact as soon as I'm done here I will go to the workshop.
