Hello All

Still an expensive operation with a lot of techical difficulties. The deep sea ROV they have cannot pick up the boxes of platnuim. The robotic arm is only rated to about 90 kg. They are hoping to enter the second cargo hold with the ROV. Alternatively they are considering to cut through the hull. The problem is all the cargo has shifted as the Port Nicolson has sunk stern first.

Another problem is the salvage vessel is subject to surface wave action which makes it hard to control a deep water ROV. It is very hard to keep the ship over the wreck site with prevailing winds and tides. If they could over come those difficulties then perhaps they chance to recover it.

I wish them luck with thier interesting venture.

Hardluck.
