I would had grabbed it or them up and start whisteling some tune as I covered up the hole.

Typical incorrect UK media coverage  Angry

From what the UK forums are showing, although a few dishonest detectorists may have pocketed the odd one, a few very honest detectorists worked tirelessly over at least 2 days with the farmer and a digger to clear the site and ensure anarchy and nighthawkers didn't steal anymore

At least 135 coins have been recovered so far
