Go Up Go Down

A SIGNIFICANT hoard of Bronze Age weaponry has been uncovered by metal "detectorists" on farmland near Burnham.

The rare find of 3,000-year-old axe heads, spear tips, swords and other metal objects was discovered in and around a pottery container that experts say was in unusually good condition.

An estimated 250 artefacts were discovered below ploughed soil which had remained undisturbed for the last three millennia . . . . .

I love it that the guy who found it said even if they didn't get a reward he wasn't bothered and would donate it to a museum anyway.
And the fact that the BBC filmed it for TV.
That should shut up some of the whingeing "Arkies"!

Totally agree, Paul. People detecting are out looking and come upon neat finds. Seems, lately, detectorists are making far more important UK finds than the arkies  Smiley  plus the finds are way more apt to be displayed for everyone's appreciation, too. Sue
