Good one Christian. There were so many of these type robberies in the goldrush times its a wonder anyone shipped gold without an army of guards.

Looked at the link. Same info I have. Did recheck my notes and did find where he changed his name to Dick Woods. While Dick was in California prospecting he was accused of stealing livestock and sent to jail. While in jail the real theif was caught and confessed to the crime. Dick was a bit mad and left for Shasta County. This is when he changed his name to Dick Woods.
