My focus is the early incised Stones, interpretation of the symbols and their pre-Christian religious context.  With Christianity, Stones with relief carved crosses and objects from biblical stories were introduced. I am of the view that current theories are largely inadequate and are not evidentially based. My own ideas are that the symbols relate to an astrological/divination system, where pairs of symbols indicate particular events in the night sky which could be auspicious or inauspicious depending on the context of the stone. The additonal comb and mirror symbols are, in my opinion, divination symbols (both of these appear in divinational symbols in cultures across Europe and Asia). Astrological systems
