It is always encouraging when someone makes a great find when they have only been detecting a few months. My first find was a gold colored play money coin - I really thought I had found something at first as it was deep and gold. It was pretty old and they sure dont make play coins for kids of that quality any more.

Go Up Go Down

I remember my first find .
I had just got my new detector and headed out bush to work on a new damsite 100miles from nowhere,     One weekend I had some time off and I couldnt wait to try my new detector out .      This area was knowen to be a gold producing area so I thought I couldnt miss .
Off I went up the riverbed seaching here searching there , then suddenly I got a strike  and a big one too!      Holy hell I struck it rich I thought digging down furiously , and there it was at three feet!  , A sheet of Corrigated Iron ,   that had washed down from dunno where .
Boy did that deflate my ego for the day
