A silver brooch, a hoard of 13th-century pennies and an Anglo-Saxon pendant made from a gold Roman coin were among the treasure found in Norfolk over the last 18 months.

". . . . said she and her husband were thrilled to have had a piece of history discovered on their land.

?The finder Derek Coleman has been metal detecting on the land for 38 years, but we've never heard of him finding anything like this before.

?It's really exciting - I've told him I'll have to get my own metal detector and start treasure hunting myself."

Finally . . . . I've wondered why these UK property owners aren't excited, curious enough, etc to check their land themselves after all the finds that are being made. The lady is probably just making a glib comment though.
