That story broke in May of 2003, what's sad is that they don't follow up with reports of if it actually WAS gold or not.. they just said that it was being 'tested'. Additionally, all that gold belongs to the Iraq's gold reserves (it's government gold), and the public will never see it. Best case scenario is that it would be confiscated and the US get it to help pay for the cost of the war, but that's unlikely that'll happen.
