NC...your best source will probably be old local histories and/or the local historical society. Second best source would be memoirs of vets and Civil War histories published before WWI, especially if you can find one specific to the state. you might also want to check some old maps....One other possible source would be the West Point Atlas For The American Civil War.

By the way, the Civil War battle is usually referred to in the history books as the Battle of South Mills in order to keep it from getting confused with the American Revolution battle known as the Battle of Camden which took place at Camden, SC.
