When I was a coin collector, I purchased a collection that had a rare unusual coin. It was a 1864 "L" indian head penny. This coin is not only a 1864 "L" but it also was struck over a 1861 indian head penny. making this a rare coin because it has the "L" and a unusual coin because it was struck on another coin. Is there anyone out there that can tell me what this coin might be worth?
I did have a large collection of American and Canadian coins and still have many coin books and some coins that i kept, so if you need help with something please feel free to ask, I will help you the best way I can.

Here are a couple of pics of my former collection, just to show you what I had. It was estimated at being $12,000 in value, I say estimated because there were several coins that were never valued.

My address will not help. I sold the better part of the collection, about two years ago exept for a dozen or so coins that I kept. I sold the collection for $11,500. Now I am trying to find the values on the coins that I still have.
In regards to the 1864 indian penny, the coin is worth $60 US for just being a 1864 "L"  and coins struck over other coins are valued around $150 to $200 but to have both in one is very rare and will enhance the value quite a bit more then that.

Thanks for the link, but I already know what a normal indian head penny is worth, I do have all the up to date books on American coins.
I need to know what this "1864 "L" struck on a 1861 coin" is worth. These types of coins are very rare and when found, most people never let them go unless they sell the whole collection, which was the case with this particular collection that I had to pay $10,000 for.
