Hi:
I am new to this forum  Hope someone can clear up my confusion about the three Heathkit metal detector models, i.e. the GR-1290 the GD-1190 and the GD-1290?
Does anyone know the difference, like operating frequency, etc.?
Also, are there modern kits available for a super VLF metal detector? I can only find 40 years old schematics and descriptions.

Welcome from Kansas! Be sure to use the search features at the top of the page. There are several schematics available (not sure about VLF). Soon enough there will be some savvy tech types to steer you in the right direction.

Welcome from New Mexico.    Those are some pretty old detectors.   There are options that are simpler and better to be had.

Google the detectors SilverDog offers.   All kits are well documented and plenty of info to be had.

Hi:
I just received a complete Heathkit Manual for the Model GD-1290 Groundtrack VLF metal detector. If someone needs information from the manual, please let me know.

Hi,

Any chance to send me a scan of the manual? I built one but the adjustments are very tricky.
Best regards,
Iulian

Hi:
I can't scan 55 pages, but I will see if there is a section on adjustment and if it is not too long I will scan it and send it to you. By the way where are you located? I live just North of Phoenix.
