Hi X,
If you mean the Magnum from around 1980 or so (practical electronics) then......... don't bother.
It's a lot of work for something that's not particularly good depthwise or stability wise.
I had no end of problems (I built one around 1982 or so).
I'd "clone" something like a "Tesoro", same amount of work....... way better results!

Hi X,
I'd go for something like a Tesoro "Golden Sabre" clone.
The good thing about something like this is you can actually use a genuine Tesoro coil.
Which, secondhand, is probably cheaper than buying the wire and a half-decent coil housing.

Yes, The "Bandido" is a Great machine, well suited to European (and no doubt African) soils!
