I agree with you Homie, when I used to watch that display it dropped me in the #$@% a few times, that is why I do not use the display much.

Grin Dpease, I take all responses as an encouragement, I listen and learn to what a person thinks  Great you made some very strong points in your observations which also got me thinking.... We must remember that there is NO true answer to this question, but depends on what happened to you as an individual when you started detecting. For me it was difficult to get going as people with detectors were very few in South Africa so I did not have anyone to show me the ropes or to ask questions  No no! if I came stuck, I would have to come back home and climb onto the forum and ask there and then wait for the answer (sometimes a long way of learning).
I still remember looking to see if I could find a basic course on detecting on the Internet that I could do, but there was nothing.... That is why I thought of this  Clapp For years I was detecting on my own as I had no partners... Now I detect when I can with Xavier (also on this site), so now we learn together  Great So as said, there is no right or wrong answers to this question, all boils down to how you started and learnt this great hobby  Clapp

Grin Grin Grin Don't you just love burying them cans but seriously though I think that we should have some tags made of aluminium with a text saying I was here first and place them in the hole with one of your DVD's when we find something good.  Grin

Thanks for that Dpease  Great but if there are no detorists out there, then buy my video course when it is made  Grin Grin Grin Grin

That is what I was talking about... when there is nobody to help you, you do learn the wrong stuff, and that could be a reason to not get good finds for a long period of times causing you to become despondent and giving up.... like my one friend who started learning with me....  No no!

Grin Grin Grin You are so vain my friend, but I see that all them times that you came with me detecting has paid out you now have so much confidence that you even want to make a ridiculous DVD about your hat and your feet  Grin
