Would you be so kind as to place a well known coin next to it or a ruler? Either would help to give a general size to the item. Also, is it magnetic? Is it copper with a coating of charcoal? From a photo alone, ID is nearly impossible.

Where found? Any chance that ends were worn by sand, action? I have found many pieces of copper, bronze, brass bent and worn along the shore. Wish we could help..Just need more info.

It looks like a cinch ring from a horse bridle or from some other horse tack. Looks like it wore through on one side. Hard to tell the age.

Perhaps a worn link from some type of chain or fastener?

That/those are not worn because the  gilding goes to the ends and it would wear off first, whether paint or metal

If they were animal you would need a cryptozoologist!  Grin

Sorry, I can not even imagine, unless you found them on a beach and they are mermaid scales.  Shocked

Just a guess...looks like one of those nose rings folks put in hogs noses to keep them from rooting up the ground and escaping their pens..............some were placed on cattle noses to wein them. But it also looks like a big cable staple to secure cables on poles, etc.
