Rather than not answer at all, here was what I initially thought when I first saw your find.

1. Looks like brass, a little bent. Anything on the other side?
2. Might be a golf marker but that depends on size. They are used on the green in place of leaving the ball there. The reason I thought that was because those two crossed items looked like golf clubs with a crown over them. That sort of depends on the size.
3. Looks like it might be from an overseas golf course in an Asian or Middle Eastern country because of the writing along the edges.

None of those thoughts are likely to be of any help. I just wanted you to know you were not ignored then or now.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I was going to say crossed hockey sticks, but then I am a Canuck, however the polo suggestion brought to mind both Hurley and its American cousin LaCrosse.

[wise]Hello, your found is interesting. It can be a bottle cap (we didnt see the other side) or it can be a negotiable instrument in the early days (as their money) or a special gift to important people. The writings on the side intrigues me, they are sort of a... from the middle east. But the crown and the cross is very confusing,as well as the 2 baton in cross position, maybe its a commemorative coin or something. Does it have any date on it? Wise
