the pins look similar to the pin holding the pulley on the block..  They may be extra pins.  I know that the pins wear out pretty fast without any bearing on the roller.

hello all i think i can shed a little more light on the subject here . alot of the older block and tackles were braced with wood on the sides usually a  hardwood like oak or hickory. i do believe the extra pins you found were to hold the wood to the block. hope this helps
