Hi all, Just got a real nice used Whites MXT. My question is when i run tests on gold rings. I used 4 different gold rings. They all come up reading 10 Fail on VDI. Is this normal? Should i use some other setting other than reset settings? Needing some direction for finding gold rings, earings, neckless.

Had 3 MXT's  Did you ground balance it properly? Were you in coin mode or prospect mode?  something isn't right try it on a coin (quarter) on the ground and see what happends, even if it doesnt read quarter doesn't mean its bad it might mean you don't have it tuned or grn bal right?Huh??  shortribs

Are you sure it's a VDI of 10 and foil but it has a pixel problem, my MXT usually reads foil around 10 VDI and the gold rings can read from -10 to + 26

if it says Fail thats funny, but I guess it must be a graphical problem with the screen

the vdi seems correct, some gold rings show that value
