We ahave found a Ball Ring in one of our diggings. The ring was recovered in an approximate deep of 108 ft, was found together with the fine sand that we are excavating. It was again coated with thick asphalt. The ring look like a "Ball Ring" or may be a "class ring" with blurd or faded letters engrave. Some words are readable as "PAVET. FORTH.IBUS". other letters are unreadable and the logo which is also engrave is unknown to us. The ring is seems to be an old Ball Ring.

Can somebody may recognize this Ball Ring or may give some idea where this ring came from or originated.

Thank you

I'm thinking maybe 8-10 feet (excavating), or maybe 8-10 inches (metal detecting)? It is hard to identify the ring from your photo, looks like a class ring? Should have more info easily readable on the sides if you clean it well and use some side lighting to show off the texture of the writing. If you post another, clearer photo I'll give it a shot  Smiley

You'll find that the Yamashita treasure hunters dig some really deep holes looking for their holy grail. That ring? Probably salted to keep the diggers interested.

Personally, I don't believe anyone would dig a shaft 108 feet into the ground to find a fairy tale.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

macro shot the ring frontal shot. in my comparison to the existing class ring of PNPA and PMA in philippines it has a possible similarity on shape. the next time adjust your camera for macro.

Heck, as blurry as that picture is, it could just as easily be a relatively modern Texas A&M class ring
