What about a thermic lance?  Apparently they can cut through concrete pretty quickly, but they produce a lot of heat and could ruin your find... though the diamonds would be okay!

I've never used one and don't know too much about them, so you'd want to find an expert before lighting one up!

now homefire you gave them the best idea. but i'm sure they will make another reasons that the encasement will not be break by your idea. i don't know why but it's common in the philippines. in fact those ideas were commonly used by mining companies in the philippines. but i'm sure, one idea is what they want but it came from your wallet. got it? very very very sure...

OK point taken, yet 1 box doesn't cost much to ship. And it takes determination as well, most every one here has it or none of us would look and search for hours or years for the things we find, also this is not a contest I just gave my best guess to get into a tough concrete structure oh and did not see an idea from  you ram ,but I'm sure you would have a good solution Cool thanks.adrian see

Although not a rational observation... but, simply confused.

Are the Filipino "treasure hunters" so moronic they cannot break/penetrate simple concrete compounds? I mean, the Japanese (nor anybody) had any super-duper concrete in the 1940s. This storyline about not being able to penetrate concrete is just asinine, in my opinion.

If only these guys realize how foolish they sounded. This "can't break the concrete" BS is as ridiculous as the claim that Japanese soldiers were paid in gold.

Who would think of using a torch to break concrete? Bank robbers? There are so many better and safer ways to do it.
