Hello I am new member, and i have been trying to find info. on a pow camp during the japanese occupation, but google sadly has very little info on the camp, only info. i could find was that at the end of the war the Japanese high command ordered the execution of all 2000 prisoners. Was this standard policy for the Japanese to do where they trying to hide something, or where they just pissed because they where sore losers.                                                     If anyone knows of any resource for any info on the ww2 prison camps I would be very thankfull Pray

You're leaving out a lot of details. The Japanese surrender was finalized at the end of the war but there were many surrenders during the final year of the war and many camps were "sanitized" by the slaughter of the POWs. You'll have to be far more specific to even get a glimmering of an answer. As an example, the following is offered from the Wiki page on V-J day. Remember that Wiki is a starting point, not positive proof of anything. But this quote is historically accurate.

"On August 15 and 16 some Japanese soldiers, devastated by the surrender, committed suicide. Well over 100 American prisoners of war also were executed. In addition, many Australian and British prisoners of war were executed in Borneo, at both Ranau and Sandakan, by the Imperial Japanese Army.[7] At Batu Lintang camp, also in Borneo, death orders were found which proposed the execution of some 2,000 POWs and civilian internees on September 15, 1945."

The Wiki article contains references at the end. Valid, legitimate ones.

Do a Google search for World War Two FOIA releases. That's the Freedom of Information Act where you can request copies of original documents. You will find yourself lost in the search for days now. You may blame me. I have big shoulders, mate.

You might find some useful information in some of the bools about the Bataan Death March, especially those that deal with or by the survivors.   There are a lot of those on the market now.  Some of them are very well documented, so even if they don't deal with the specific POW camp you are interested in, they may have references that you can use to find information on your camp.
