Hello Alan

The Biggest Pinocchio of them all was President Marcos.

Just look at the national obsession he created with every strange rock ,buoy marker etc.. all markers to a treasure legends created by the dictator to cover his own biggest theft of national funds in history.

I think the old dictator would be laughing in his grave if he knew what he created?

I think the temperature and pressure down where the old boy is would be perfect for making diamonds.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi Hardluck,
people forget that Marcos also had an army under his command to do his dirty work around Mindanao in those days, after  the general war the public were scared of going anywhere the japanese had been for fear of mines and what the army might do to you if caught.
Some say some treasures were recovered and returned to Japan by the FBI or CIA under a secret deal who knows.  Undecided

Hello Allan

In an effort not to insult my fine Philippino friends. There is treasure in the Philippines but not as they imagine it. There is are amazing buried colonial treasures and small personal WW2 caches of small time looting to be found. But an highly organized golden lily operation is pure fantasy created by Marcos and his cronies.

It has been many years since I was there in the Philippines I am amazed how much the "Golden Lily" myth has evolved and become a national obsession and pastime.

When it comes to smoke and mirrors Marcos was a master. The CIA involvement there was for Political, strategic and tactical maneuvering against their Cold war opponents.

The real power brokers are the Front companies behind the front companies, behind the companies. When Marcos wore out his welcome they set the process for his removal. His activities needed to be covered up to cover there own activies.

And the "Golden Lily" fitted the bill. Marcos the greatest thief in history really pulled one over on the Philipino nation leaving a Beautiful country bankrupt. Leaving Millions of Phillipinos in abject poverty dreaming of Golden lily treasure that never was.

And that is history my friend and I have a little reminder of my time there lodged in my neck to remind me.

As for treasure hunting in Davos, Please be very careful there I had an associate ended up getting his head cut off when his family could not pay the ransom money. They play for keeps there.

The Philippines is amazing country of contrasts of thousands of islands with so many stories to tell.

regards Hardluck  Cool
