Hi Alan

Thousand respects and hat in hand, Alan congratulations! Whether it be motivating to hear the detector sounded constantly.

A beautiful painting of hunting

Regards
Luc

To everyone that has replied to this post I had one secret tool at my disposal and that was determination.  I knew where to look after a long time in the water and learning about the channels using that information I set myself a target to find as many as I could over a 24 hour period. This did mean staying in the water longer than I normally would of done.  I usually set myself 4 hours to do my searching this was a very strange day in so much as the tides didnt vary much so was able to stay in longer than normal.
I you set your goals and stick to them you never know how lucky you can become..  Remember there is no such thing as luck!!!!!  the harder you work at it the luckier you become.  There are others who have done better that myself and I make no bones about it.
They were just as determined as I was and who knows there are still places that have never seen a detector so theres plenty of places to try your luck and may 2010 be that year where you can be as lucky as many others ..... good luck to everyone.... alan hassell

Go Up Go Down

It was easier to find more rings in one day some years ago, I had some beaches that were never hit in the water back in the 1960's and 70's and I did exceptional on them. There are a lot more water hunters doing it now, and a lot more have done their research to find places that no longer are being used, but there are always some more places somewhere, and then there are current places that get drained for some reason or other, these could be prime sites also. Do your research and look on old maps for old beaches that are no longer used, keep reading the newspapers for depth changes in local beaches or lakes, especially when they might be doing dam work, dock work, or dredging, there are always new possibilities, but to be one of the first out there is the key.  Good huntin.

OUCH  my man what a day you two had.. the luck be with you and your friend and i'm sure he is smiling upon you this very moment...

have a safe new years eve  and maybe one day digger gary and old beachluck here just might try and get at least 1 or 2 rings .. at the beach  as we have a LOT of those newbies  Detecting  all over the beaches during late April  till it be colder   never seen one cloce to the water as they be using those excalibers and such on the dry sand.. we hit the kneww high and that be it as we be getting a lil older now so no more diving , the hotshots in
Sacremento have outlawed all recreational gold dredging here in this state and it do  "" P ""
Angry us all off... seems Pam Wiggans and her anti this and that coalitions got it passed  now it be if one gets caught 6 months in JAIL  Police and a $1,000.00 fine.. ah well politics and big business go hand in hand.. the left has taken over by darn.. so  Wise that be it .

here tell Amen that they may try to outlaw gold panning  so the rumor be  Cry

well all have a great 2010

beachluck & digger gary
