 Those are Chinese imported detectors and though I haven't tried them, I haven't heard anything good about them. I heard they may be copys of older models circuitry.

Although I have not personally used the viper trident, from everything I've ever heard about them it seems that your money would be better spent on another unit.

Your best bet is to get a used Garrett Sea Hunter Mk II. New they are @ $700.00 so used might be in your range.
