At least 18 people died because of that storm, so now you think that it's funny?

So far there are 70 known deaths in the US. I say "known" because there are still thousands of houses to be searched that have been demolished and may have been occupied by those who chose to remain behind. This is going to take months to clean up.

I just can't help to wonder in what direction you'd be running if that had to happen.

Just to recap here, you don't think it's funny but you're eager for a storm to hit so you can find a few pence? How does the death toll affect your cavalier attitude towards storms that cause such destruction as Sandy did?

Why not remain silent and not appear to be a ghoul? Does that make sense to you, Rich?

Looks like my reply did not post so in case it didn't i will try again .

It is a beach detecting thing and here many detectorists would love a storm even a big one.
Its not about death or injury or destruction and if it was somewhere other that the U.S. would you be worried ?
Its always harder for the ones in the thick of it but as i said if a big storm hit my local beach 10miles away from where i live there would be a lot of joy from a lot of detectorists here as the beaches i am on about produce in the bucket loads when right. Its very rarely in pence .

Its always sad to hear of deaths or destruction but mother nature knows no boundries but it could have been better timed in some peoples minds as it could mean a President Obama for another 4 years when many might not have wanted it or maybe thats the way it should have been ? thats fate . Thats if people have thought that his handling of the situation was good or bad , trouble is that people forget for the time being if he made mistakes elsewhere in the last few years , happens here too and thats why this country is up the swanny or U bend or down the toilet .
Anyway if you do chuck Obama out , tell him to come here and run this country and kick out our wimpish bunch of no goods.

Back in 1987 we had a mild Hurricane here in my local area SE England mainly and it killed around 20 and caused 1 or 2 Billions worth of damage but i assure you that even though there are deaths and destruction life goes on and unless you are connected to a loss then human nature is always going to ignore what does not affect them.
Though you think about and consider it sad , I did not like to see the Big Apple or any of the other cities towns and people get that storm but after that storm like a few on another forum have done i would have been on those beaches looking for the yellow stuff.
Its just a detecting thing and not meant as offence , ever. Sorry.

We had a bit of a windy day on Wednesday , only 20mph but it did the trick and i found a Gold 9k 5.6gramme ring also a silver ring and £15.28p .

One thing i hope is that this time the damage can be repaired quicker than the destruction in New Orleans , that was an awful mess.

Good luck on the clean up and take care.

I warned you to remain silent. Now you have made it clear that you are a bit of a ghoul. If you reply to this, I will moderate you immediately. Keep your comments to yourself.

Seems like the rest of us are and we did not even feel the breeze of it.
