The only tip I have is that the deeper your detector goes, the deeper you will have to dig if you find anything. If you think you can dig five feet into the mud while diving, then I guess that is ok! On land I have heard that digging in hard ground with a shovel is hard, that you have to press the spade in with your foot, and that it can take hours getting it out. Sometimes water can be poured around the dig area.

I strongly urge those who buy a bounty hunter or ace 250 to read my post under "beginners" about sensitivity and discrimation to save themselves a lot of headaches.  Wise

I got mine last year off of ebay.  I have no idea what kind it is.  All the manual says is:
3010/GC-1010 Metal Detector.  Hey, I got it for like $100...  It has an LCD screen & sensitivity disc/notch.  I hope I did not buy junk...  I have been able to find some money and other stuff in my yard though.

fisher F2,cheep and great coin shooter,I bought one 3monts ago,great on the parks and play grounds ect,I know that in the states they are alot cheeper then here in europe,great for new commers to this addictive hobby,,,just go out and get the goodies waiting to be found,its healty and rewarding

Woo hoo, I should have read all the posts before I responded.  That is my machine.....#3.  Looks just like it.  So it that a good one or did I get taken for my $100 or so bucks?
