I have a Garmin and a Tom Tom, but my mobile phone is the best for our type of work as it has trails which I can put up on GoogleEarth  Great The only problem is, is the accuracy of the trails,,,, exact to the nearest 10 metres etc which is not good for search patterns like we do.

Well sometimes the accuacy has been down to 7ft and even 3ft according to the accuracy screen, but even when it has said its at 23ft i have found that its usally less than a metre, standing on one spot turn 90deg right then turn around 180degs the reading changes quickly so you know when your on track and i have driven up and down 6 lane highways and its been spot on,
when I've done accuracy tests it has always taken me to the exact spot that i have marked with a rock, the accuracy meter is a very close guide but when you press the mark button and then press the average button/screen it really zero's in and then sets the co-ordinates then it is very accurate.
