Lugknut
GD has given you good advice but it seem you want someone to take you by the hand lead you to a gold mine, sorry we will help with advice and how to do things but its up to you to do the work.

The net is a bad place to do your research you need to go to the library and look at the maps and old newspapers in their archives you need to invest in some good treasure hunting and prospecting how to books you need to study the  geology of your area. If your not willing to invest the time it takes then just go to the park or school yard dig a few pennies and call yourself a treasure hunter.

The net is a bad place to do your research

This is very true. Even the most detailed explanations can be dead wrong. If you're not careful, someone may accidentally lead you onto private land where you could be arrested or, even worse, shot.

As a rule of thumb, always start your research where you feel most comfortable. It that's here on the web, so be it. But never, ever draw conclusions from data you find here. On a level of trust, the net should place around 4 out of 10. The written and published word should place around 7-8 out of 10. Journals and first person accounts can normally merit around 9-10 out of 10. Even if you found a real cherry of a lead here, until you know us better, do not trust what you read here without verifying it.

Whoa, Lugknut. Remove the chip from your shoulder and be prepared to buck up to some serious study.

GoldDigger,
Perhaps you misunderstood me. I am not, nor have I, asked to be given access to any of your or anyone else's hard work. If there is a chip located somewhere on my upper torso, it was placed there by someone else. I fully understand that I will have to do my own research. All I was asking for was a bit of guidance. After re-reading what I had posted, I probably could have given a bit more information....no use worrying about a dropped mag now.

I have read the advice you have given me and will definately be spending some time on the garrett site. I have read some of the threads that have been posted by my fellow Noobies....I am not going to be asking anyone for a "Gold Plated Gonculator 5000" that will locate and recover whatever it is programed to find. I hope my questions/ observations are a bit more realistic.

I have read
