That's bad advice, mate. The import duties make an Ace 350 almost twice the price elsewhere. Minelab has worked hard to keep those import duties in place to protect their product line which, as you know, commands a premium price.

I'd go with a US seller like KellyCo.

I agree , you can buy  a new item in the USA and get it shipped to your address cheaper than buying in Australia , this cuts out the middle man . cheers Mick

Don"t buy one from Australia, even Aussies dont do that, it was cheaper for me to buy one from the USA, then import it. than to buy it here in Australia. Only down side if i have a problem during warranty i have to pay shipping back to garrett in texas. But the guy gave me more than enough freebies, and a way better price to make it worthwhile.

Gozzo,
I beg to differ, apart from NO warranty if the item is greater than $1k you also pay import duties.
Try buying a Minelab GPX from the US (Cheaper than Oz) and see how you get on when your machine breaks down?
Most I know buy local, the couple who thought they were saving got stung big time importing.

So, Nightjar, when I move from the US to Oz, my Minelab is no longer under warranty? Better check on that. Circumstances change frequently.
