I am offering a chance to get the book that david wrote and writes about in this thread for free.  I bought the book for the purpose of giving it away in a drawing.  You can get information about it at my blog.  Click Here

I am sad that so far no one has signed up but the odds are great for the ones who do.

I almost subscribed to your Blog, then I saw the Ads below "Make Extra Money"...
No, thanks.  Exhausted

These referal Links look like they should generate Income for the Blogger, not for blogspot.com.
I refuse to support this questionable Business by visting the Blog (traffic).

Back to the Topic... If the $19.97 ebook is only about hacking a digital Camera for Infrared,
you can save your Money because this Topic has been covered many times all over the Web.
If you look for an "Aura" from Gold or Silver... good luck with that.  Funny

Man it seems that film is slowly going by the way side.

This article is most informative on the use of IR films.

Outback is totally right; don't click on any links if they don't interest you.  As for generating income, my blog may generate five to ten cents on a good day.  Hardly anything to worry about.  That is not the reason for the blog.  As for the ebook, I don't have many entries yet so the odds of winning are fantastic.  It is a very good book, but not something that I would do personally.  I have plenty of success on treasure hunting without it.

If I get lots of traffic I will increase the prizes.  I am thinking about offering a metal detector in the future.  It depends on how successful this is.  Obviously I won't make the income to cover the detector with the blog, it, like any other site that offers something for free is for driving traffic.  I make $3,000 - $4,000 per year or more with my metal detector so upping the prizes is not a big deal to me.

By the way, I wanted to ad that part of what makes my treasure hunting so successful is David, the starter of this thread.  I use another book of his that I purchased four years ago that has helped increase my finds by 500%.  IF this month's drawing is successful maybe I will buy another copy of that book and offer it for the next month.

You can enter the drawing by going to:

There is a full page ad that will appear one time per six hours per ip address.  Just skip and get on to the good stuff.

The book mentions false colour infrared photography as a very useful treasure hunting tool for identifying large buried features and compacted ground as discussed in this thread and, as Sauerkraut said, there are reams of free information about converting digital cameras to false colour on the Internet.  However the book is largely concerned with photographing buried and hidden treasure auras with both Polaroid (still viable for a few years yet) and digital cameras.  In all honesty, I have experimented with false colour digital photography and have not been able to produce any treasure auras at all with that method, nevertheless it is still a very valuable tool for treasure hunting.

Best wishes,

David

David's new book is good reading and worth the $19.97.  Currently I only have two entrants for the book so the odds of winning are great.  If you would like to enter go to:

Yes. Actually the emanations from the treasure site are mainly electric/teluric/ionic. The best region for to be viewed is around 800 nm.
I don't know what David Villanueva has come up with regarding using a digital camera. But a special IR googles can be built cheap for this. Just use some congo blue and red filters and adjust for the desired wavelength.

Anyway, David is a great LRL techniques contributor as always.

There's also even a better possibility in using Infrared Laser leds for transmitters, exciting the target in order to increase the phenomena.
