My cousin hunted for years using a Bounty Hunter in the 80s and found many great finds.  My brother now has that detector sitting in his closet.  My cousin hit an illegal federal protected beach in Texas one night, got caught and the detector still has a big red evidence sticker on it.
 
Nice choice, especially choosing the one with the auto ground balance not fix.

I bet that cost him a hefty fine.  He's lucky to get the MD back.  Yes, I am sold on the ground balance issue.  I'd never buy a fixed unit, even though I've drooled over a couple for other reasons.

Your cousin got lucky, I have seen them take detectors trucks campers etc.

NO y'all doing just fine keeping this thread alive. This is one of the most entertaining and at times informative threads we have had in awhile

The conman of the early days turned drowsing into a million dollar business. Look at some old treasure mag's from the 60's and 70's they have dozen of ad's for LRL some look like ray guns from mars. The sad part is they sold 100's of them to gullible treasure hunters.

I tried dowsing once i ended up in the thunder box ( thats Australian fer out house ) so i guess it worked but i ended with more than H2o just my luck i'm always in it it's only the depth that varies,
