All indications are that the servers had a system wide failure from his hosting provider. It may have been a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack but it looked more like a hardware failure to me. Those machines get awfully hot and need frigid cooling air to keep them working properly.

I'm sure Christian will be by soon to offer an explanation.
