Like Jim said , i don't shoot other people's reloads.
And i said i don't care to reload never said i didn't know how.  Or that i couldn't.

Personally I prefer to use Military Ammo purely it is the same Load and weight all around the world and it saves on having to re set ya sights when you go from one brand to another,

With factory loads I would stick to Winchester or PMC, but most of the time I used 7.62 Ball.

All the competitions I've ever shot at everyone used the same ammo and same type of weapons.

Never have i been in or watched a competition for a title, prize or money. Have sponsors ever allowed
Reloads or hand packed loads.  Maybe they did 40 or 50 years ago but ive been involved with range
Competitions for over 25 years , and I've never seen it.  But i guess during times of.scarce ammo it could happen.

Military ammo is almost always hardball. Full metal jacketed copper clad with an armored tip. When I was in, I'd take my allotment and put it in my locker and used my own loads.

As far as using other people's handloads, you do have to know the person to trust the loads. Like I said, Karl, I had friends who asked me regularly for a box of 100 of my loads. When I get going, I do a few thousand rounds of each caliber while I am watching a movie or chatting with a friend.  Sadly, I would lover to have a cigar when I do it but that would be sort dumb. Probably only do that once.

I was using Ball and some Guy switched his ammo to hand loads and I still Beat him, he even went as far as removing the ball Ammo from the Box amd putting his Loads in It just to fool the RO's.

Worst then a Hot Round is a Partial charge.   Rifle goes bang but the bullet does not exit the Barrel.   Now you put a second one behind it and All Sorta Bad things happen.   Huh?   :Smiley

On the Funny side.  !!!!   A guy gave me a few dozen 12 gauge bird shot he loaded.   Went out dove hunting .  Sat there for hours waiting for the fly buy.   Here the come in sets of three.   I stand up Point and SHoot.   All I hear is a Stooge sound.   I think to my self,  WHAT TA ELLLLLLLLLL  ?   I point the Muzzle down to check out things.   All the shot came tickling out of the Barrel.   Tink Tink Tink Tink.

Well, with that kind of track record I definitely wouldn't use YOUR hand loads, mate. Sorry.

Mine have never once failed even when I accidentally bought a few thousand pieces of brass with box primers. The secret is new brass and quality bullets.

Box primers are not replaceable. The up side is the brass cannot be reloaded but I never reused my brass. Resizing the brass sometimes caused cracks and that's bad news. Your chamber is strong enough to keep it from being too dangerous but the brass can hang if it is cracked. My personal defense loads are fantastic. A full one gallon milk bottle of water vaporizes and you can't even find a piece of plastic bigger than a dime (5 pence).

WHo ever said it was me or my loads ?   I sure didn't   !!!!!     I have seen it done.  I've seen the Results.

Quality Brass is safe for at least 3 reloads if your not loading too hot.

At Ft. Carson we use to get boxes and boxes of .308 blanks that got left around after maneuvers.  Cut off the extruded bullet chanfer, resize and reload.  You had to replace the powder.  Being Blanks the stuff that was in them was way too fast.   Thousands of rounds.

Buy the way.  Boxer primers are the one you can Reload. Not Berdan.....   You can if you need to but it's a pain in the wazzu.

Guess your confused. Boxer are replaceable.   THE Berdan are not.  Birdan are history unless you want to save few dollars in history.

The thing that REALLY Bugs me is the Pricing of Scopes over here, I have always wanted the Leupold  Mk IV spotting scope and the mk IV 4-16 rifle scope but over here they charge twice the price for them and to this day I have not managed to buy either because of price fixing, and on one of the US shooting forums I got ripped of with a Bushnell version of the mk IV spotter and it was broken and ended up costing me over $650 for a stuffed second hand scope that cost me more than when it was new,
