Homefire, I went to a county planning meeting this morning and Smokey the Bear was there. The U.S. Forest service guy who dresses up like a bear to tell people to put out their camp fire. He said we have got to get the message over to people that management by fire is an important part of ecology. I think most people that lived on the land, farmers, ranchers and the like knew that already when smokey was going around suppressing all fire. Its funny how the experts seem to be the last to figure something out...I worked for the Forest Service in 1973-4 and the people there knew the importance of thinning and controlled burns, they just didn't talk about it because it wasn't politically correct at the time. Funny

Homefire, what's the temperature where you are?  It got up to 92 here today but it's cooling off now. Be time for a short hunt in about an hour.

Got to love monsoon (except for the higher than normal humidity).   We're currently at 101 F ( 38.33 C  )  with 32 % humidity a little northwest of Homie (and about 1000 to 2000 feet lower).
