Hey Jim, been awhile. Hope to see some of your finds this fall. Anybosy heard form Ridgerunner? (John) this summer?

He came by on the moderator board a few weeks ago to say he was doing better both in health and in life. He's a moderator on this forum.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Cache, welcome back, its too hot here in Florida too unless you are under water. Yesterday was the first time I did any dirt digging the temp was about 85 humidity 85%. Came away with about 50 cents clad and somebody's house key. The farmers and property owners are beginning to do their fall mowing now and it will be good in about 3 more weeks. I'm praying for an early cold spell. At age 69 you can't tolerate much direct sun in the summer that is why I've gone to water hunting in the summer and land hunting in winter....gambol

Hey Gambol1,

Yep. it was pretty hot here in Orlando, was about 88 degrees out the last I checked while working on the A/C of a Nissan Altima, my nieces car. Been on this thing for a week trouble shooting the full electrical system and then the mechanical. Finished it up yesterday in the heat of the day.

Who ever said when you go to Florida, it's vacation time?
LOL

Jim, good to hear from you again.  Are you just visiting Florida, or have you made a move?  Take care all!      Detecting

Hi ArfieBoy,

Nah just down helping get a few important things done for my Sisters and Nieces car fixed and a few other chores. Over 1400 miles from upstate NY to save them from having to get taken to the cleaners at auto repair shops & such.

Sis has 3 kids, 2 younger and 1 late teen...
I brought my new HP 17.3" laptop DV7 that cost nearly a grand with what its got it it & today I found a small mare/scratch on my screen & no doubt its the younger ones who did it. They were told to leave uncle Jimmy's stuff & PC alone, but you know kids never listen or learn. (I'm upset about it & that's for sure!)
 No no!

What's cold is, when you do alot of things for people, of which actually save them many hundreds of dollars that they don't have to spare; you don't even get a heartfelt real thankyou for the help you've been sometimes! (Burrrrrrrrrr) LOL, that's usually family brothers & Sisters for ya.

I'd probably like to move down here someday, but Orlando isn't what I'm after. I think Stuart/Ft. Pierce area is nice, and maybe north of Ft. Lauderdale.
 Great

Thanks guys, and now I have to remove & change out the CV Axel shaft on this 2000 Nissan Altima...I see something new to take care of everytime I get one job completed.
 Cheesy

Cheers,
Jim

Yeah, it's always something (else), isn't it!  Bummer about your laptop!  Good luck with the Nissan.  Did you take along a detector or is this just a help-out trip?  Even if you don't get the "thanks" you know you did the right thing for family.   Best to you!     Detecting

 Hello

Yep, just basically a help-out trip as usual, but yes your exactly right, I do and try to do what I can for the family.
 Smiley

Yeah brought my Fisher aquanaut 1280X with me, but haven't even been to the beach or anywhere to give her a workout. This one runs pretty fine at the east coast beaches from the Carolina's down to Florida compared to others that say this machine is useless in or near salt water. (Well at least she has twice in the past for me)

Cheers & keep swinging them there coils guys!
 Grin

Jim
