This is true, and if i walked in like this now , all my troops would gawk at me   
And i sure as heck wouldn't be setting an example , think ill get the the Mrs. to take me and get my ears lowered, need to go out to base sometime anyways just to check on my troops.

Got all these soldiers and they don't let them do there jobs anymore, Engineer units can't even pave the roads on base anymore , it's sad it really is, everything on post now goes to civillian contract.

John we don't wear boots that need polishing any more !!    that's the best thing about the new ACU's
the worst thing is the uniform is thin and during winter months u freeze ur butt off.

Thanks Josey , Don't feel bad my yard does too, been out hunting in my yard 3 times now  finally got the nerve up to hunt the old cemetary , thats where i found the rock hammer bar for a bobcat/tractor buried at,
found all the other stuff where the old 2 story farm house use to sit before it burned down.

Don't worry about the grass it will come back on its own , and if it doesn't thats just less to mow !!

When i came in i got issued the old greens and blk boots etc, then a few months later all the BDU stuff came out, then there were 5 revisions of the BDU's if i remember correctly , and now we got the ACU's and i think they have been revised at least twice now, the originals were single stiched and the troops kept blowing the elbows, knees and butts out of them, then the double stiched ones came out, and then i think the last revision was to do something with the pockets if i remember correctly.

but after 27yrs soon to be 28 I am ready to go. the last 5 yrs there have been so many changes it's hard for an old fart like me to keep up with it anymore.
