Thanks Pat, Army life is hard on the body cause of all the pt and usuage ur body gets carring ruck sacks that weigh as much as the average individual etc, And i believe it,

looks like now they will make me wait till 6 months after the lung surgery before they Medically outprocess me. So I guess I will make 28yrs Wink

Both me and my wife quit a 25 year smoking habit with the nicotene gum. It only took me 3 days but it took my wife 6 years. I told her it was better to crave and chew the gum than to smoke. She became addicted to the gum but without all the bad stuff in cigs. Now to me, being addicted to the gum was like being addicted to a safe skoal. After 6 years she developed some stomach issues and we don't know what exactly caused it cause she uses NSADS too so she just quit the gum finally. You get to where you crave the gum instead of the smokes and why not? Its soooo much safer than smokes. She got to where she didn't want a cig, she wanted her gum. I told her to stay on it all her life if thats what it took but it will buy you alot of years anyway.

Karl even if you limit it to 1 an hour instead of 3 or 4 per hour thats -75% better than nothing , smoke by the clock

My point about the gum....your brain and body NEEDS the nicotene. Its the stuff in the smoke thats bad. Give it what it wants. Pure, pharmisutical grade nicotene. MMMmmm makes me what to go in the closet and see if we got any left. Wink

Its the nicotene that you're addicted to, not the smokes. You can even get nicotene in a nasal inhaler from the doc. It goes straight to the brain but the gum works because it gives your mouth something to do also like puffing on a smoke or dippng skoal. To me thats a key factor in the addiction process is the oral fixation as part of the process of pleasure.

It was funny after a couple of days watching my wife. All those things we did with cigs like after meals, with a cup of coffee, while taking a break....she'd pop a gum in her mouth just like the old cigs and she was a happy camper.

I am trying john down to one every 3 hours, in the pats 8 months ive gone from 3packs a day to less than one, and now they want me to quit overnight, kinda hard to do. but i am trying.

Thanks Pat , i got the gum and the electronic cig, and a prescription for something , i need to go git.
U know this is the only bad vice i really had, I dont cheat on the wife , kick the dog or the kids, I dont drink and i dont go running around with the boys till all hours of the night. So I guess when i beat the Smoking all the bad things are over with. Undecided
