Holy  cow  how  screwed  up  can  they  be .

They can be pretty screwed up sometimes!  I worked for the US Postal Service for 28 years as a rural carrier.  But my customers got service.  If you were within 1/2 mile of the route, you got to the door service (regulations required that then).  I even went further, sometimes especially for Christmas time and birthdays that I knew of.  Been retired for 10 years now, so I don't know what the rules are now!  But I went for customer service, not the rules of the day!

Because you are just that kinda guy, Arfie. They don't make them like us any more. I always gave 100% public service as an outside Electronics repair technician, plus any extra that I could at the time. Still do today. Not looking for any reward or thank you. Well, maybe a little smile.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

USPS in the midwest, south, and southwest sucks bilge water. No airline hubs except Texas, Salt Lake city, Denver, LA, and Oregon. Everything is trucked out of there. If you live nearby, delivery is fairly quick. Mississippi and eastward there are tons of hubs. Things get delivered quickly. We don't count out here because we lack political votes.  Rider Wise Angry. Got a package from New Jersey by USPS this week. 5 days. Got a package from Texas last week by USPS. 5 days Why? Trucked all the way to Dallas from origin, then by plane to Denver, then from Denver to Phoenix by truck.

UPS is best or just go get it yourself.
