i have a couple of custom tools i have fashioned from stainless   the first one works awsome cuts quickly through the frozen couple of inches of the ground   but it was too short so i made another  about 3 inches longer   havent got to dirty it yet .  but the deeper the plug  the bigger the hole  has to be  i realzed cause if a plugs too deep you cant pry it out intact thats not what we want   you just have to take a shallow plug  if theres no nuggets  in it the longer one gets down in there better after that...  for those deep impact aluminum nuggets  i wanted to see if they were up to ART specs  were do /can i contact the art technical department . or the head of research and development ?

We will have to see pics and specs but I'm sure they will pass inspection.  Heck if you can dig with long fingernails (just so its for aluminum), we're on board with you.

I think it would be neat to have somthing like PHD'S  only on a smaller scale so you could clean the hole of loose dirt in one or few attempts at least on the deeper aluminum  targets what do you guys think?

Loose fill or back fill or whatever you call it is a big problem I have in dry soil, sand, especially pea gravel where I've been hunting.  I don't know what the answer is...maybe one of them people with a PHD could figure it out.   Wink

i think you know what i am saying  most of our diggin mmm uhhh aluminum recovery tools you have to keep scoopin and scoopin to get it all out if you can squeez it some how  you could get most if not all out at once  might save a little  time == more aluminum huntin/recovery but some folks may like to scoop then sweep each scoop  if you could make it out of plastic you coud sweep it as you take it out may be . not a big deal on the shallower aluminum though  i got a small white plastic potting soil bag i carry to lay the loose stuff on it gives plenty of room when you have go after the deep stuff and is a little stiffer than my towel  it kinda funnels the soil back in the hole a little easier wet soil doesnt stick to it as easy to if your in the moist dirt like around here right now just thought i would see what you pro's thought .i gotta get me a plastic recovery tool of some kind
