The area of total destruction is thought to be a circle of about 500 miles. Undecided I doubt very many people leave the area before hand.

It is very scary , because it is so Quiet now !!! IF IT HAPPENS , Here is a Map of the "potential Destruction Area "     I do not think  any one can accurately predict the amount of volcanic Ash and or Lava . I am just outside the circle west of Las Vegas , but I think the destruction will cover more than this stupid circle...............Eugene52

That's a map of total destruction. But such an event would trigger global cooling and might even lead to another ice age. That in turn would lead to a total collapse of the food chain and billions would starve to death. Who knows how many people worldwide would survive such an event. Would it be a million? Less? More? Wouldn't be a pretty sight anyway you look at it.
