website up and running, that is selling what appears to be the same product under different names and prices. It seems the case they are selling ProPointers under its original name, then putting the letters CSI in front of it,and adding $50 to the price. Other than those two differences the specs appear the same anyone know if they are actually different.

My distributor told me basically the pro pointers are the same thing. We don't even handle CSI ones. Bart at BigBoysHobbies said this

The CSI model has a tighter pattern and is water resistant so you can wash it under running water. The standard model has a slightly wider pattern being made for larger objects.

They are not the same.

My pro pointer is a mere 3 months old and not water resistant at all. Sorry.

I bought a pro pointer a couple of months back, just the standard one and it has all the specs of the csi one as long as you cover the speaker hole it is water proof to I think it was MIL-25 standard. I was going to donate the $ money I had saved if I had won the March contest but when That comp was a dead horse, I ended up buying one ( From the US, Aussie members like me ) way cheaper from the states, than here in Australia. It is the " Ants Pants" wont go out with out it anymore although I am finding the Ace 350 to be awesome pinpointing of the tip of the coil. Anyone considering buying a pro, I say DO IT. But i personally believe the CSI is B/S even looks identical one thing I am really confused about though is the 350 doesnt seem to get any publicity from Garrett. As in you have to search it out.

I looked it over closely and also noted that the battery compartment cover looked a bit weak.

I love mine GD, no probs with the battery lid although one improvment a hole for a lanyard would be a good improvement so as not to lose it, the day my warranty runs out i will be using epoxy resin or something similar to attach something just for that added security unless some smartie from garret notices and they produce a replacment one, in which case i will buy one.

I love mine! I use a Cabelas bird vest and have a holster I sewed into the left front panel for a quick draw. The holster is slanted down from the mid line to the waist so it won't fall out. No lanyard though. I just got into the habit of holstering it. I feel sort of like something is missing if I don't do that so it's like having a "mental lanyard" of sorts.

Mine came with the Holster, I love the looks I get in parks when I whip it out, i used to be the only person I noticed in my area detecting the parks. had a lot of people come up and ask all about the hobby/past time/ profitability etc. and have been noticing lately that there is becoming more folks out detecting, maybe if it keeps up may actually be able to get a local club up and running, because there is nothing at this stage where i am
