I will state for the record that:
1) I am a firm believer in logic, science and reproducable results.
2) Notwithstanding the above, I also believe the human potential has barely been tapped and there is much to learn about it.
3) I therefore keep a VERY open mind on dowsing, and a not-so-open mind on certain LRL devices that looks like a pocket calculator glued to a water pistol.
I will firstly explain a scenario, and at the end of this post will pose a question to all dowsers out there.A kind gentleman in this forum had offered his help as a dowser in my endeavors. I gladly accepted his generous assistance.
I gave him the name of a town, and he retrieved the necessary images from Google Earth. Several targets were dowsed on those images.
One of those targets looked very close to one of my dig sites. I popped down the next day and took a GPS reading with my Garmin. The reading was averaged out 11 times with 8 satellites locked on. The difference in the latitude and longitude or the gentleman's dowsed spot and my waypoint was a scant 1.02" and 2.73" respectively.
The gentleman is about halfway across the planet from me, had no inkling as to where I was digging, and has in all probability never been to that town before. For his efforts, he shall have a share in any findings, upon my honor!
My question to all dowsers is: HOT DAMN! HOW THE HECK DID HE DO IT?
