Hey Guys

Garrett has section on there site called (Learn & Explore) > ( Which detector is right for me?)
Shows the AT Pro is recommended for surf hunting, and highly recommended for the other areas, and not at all for treasure diving. It kind of says it all don't you think? Will hunt in the surf with a little tweaking and care. That's how it sounds to me. Offers a lot features for the buck in my opinion. They have video's there on tweaking for salt water on there site.

Also under Garrett.com (Learn & Explore) > (On line training and from the field videos) a nice link to learn about other garrett units. It has more video's it seems under the AT Pro. Might be worth checking out? There where some tips and things I liked. Even watching the other vids gives me a better idea. That way I can work out side the box.

The more we learn the more we earn !   Wise

Are better yet call garrett with questions. I did, there willing to talk. They build it. Hmmm....

Where you going to get better inf than to call the cook?

My 2 cents....    Teach

I agree with you completely on this. For some reason there is a reluctance to contact the manufacturer. According to some, the manufacturers all lie, brag about their products and are only interested in self promotion. I have found the opposite to be true in this industry. There are some really helpful people in every company I have ever dealt with.

Maybe it's my charm.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Remember:

AT Pro in standard mod in salt water = erratic behavior and falsing.(Even if ground balanced)

AT Pro in Pro mode in salt water and ground balanced as you change depths, operation smooths out. Ground Balance every time you go from Dry sand, to wet sand, to knee deep salt water, to waste deep salt water. If it gets chatty in PRO Mode just ground balance and the operation smooths out. (Also you can Manual knock down the ground balance -1 or -2
if still a little chatty after use of auto ground balance.)
The tone roll and iron audio will help you identify targets as you learn the machine over time.

It's a learning curve that takes a few hours to see the noteable differences.

But good targets will ring out loud and clear.

 Settings:

The KEY: is if it gets chatty think ground balance.

Iron discrimination 25
pro mode zero
Iron audio on ( only use in less iron trashy areas, other wise to chatty to identify items clearly.)

Have fun hope this was helpful to you.   Welcome
