In Florida the combination of high humity, wind, and low temperatures will make any Notherner want to go back up north.
I have heard many say they will go back North to warm up even in 45 degree temperature.

I got a new Garrett AT-Pro a week ago and still have not used it.  It is 32 degrees in centrial Florida and the wind is blowing.  Not used to this.
Welcome and good hunting to you with your AT Pro.

I can hardly wait, for someone here, in the southwest US (where it is usually mild in the winter),or even some brave soul in AK (where they just don't seem to react to the cold as much as lower 48'ers do), to get one of these, and tell us how well they work for prospecting.

AT Pro has great ground balance which takes care of background mineralization and or hot rocks.

Not all machines can work well under adverse conditions where you have highly mineralized ground conditions.

So far I am impressed, as the ground where I am is saturated with hot rocks.

Any updates on this topic? Anyone used the AT Pro to find any nuggets?

I'm an AT pro user and it's a great machine.

In the north west there is problem with hot rocks, which can be overcome with the AT's ground balance...otherwise searching for nuggets with a metal detector is next to impossible.

Without good ground balance it's hopeless.

When the snow melts off the mountains later this spring I'm going to have a go at nugget hunting and will let you know how it works out.

I did hear of one individual picking up a one gram piece with an AT pro in the southern US.
