Hey guys, just wondering what the more knowledgeable about prospecting  Wise think of the new AT Pro's possibility of being a gold machine, as it is 15khz, and the old groundhog and the scorpion are both 15khz, and they are good for gold.

Except for the weight being so great, the best machine I have is my Groundhog. It goes deeper than deep.

I'm not into computerized detectors but runing at 15Khz, and able to GB. I would think it would do the job.

Wait and See.

Hi all, It might be an Idea to wait for some independent reviews before spending our hard earned drahmas on another alleged ''good gold detector''  Wise

Any metal detector designed for hobby use is capable of finding gold. Could you narrow down your question for us a little? Are you looking for gold rings or coins? Nuggets in the field? In water? Desert?

There are lots of factors that determine whether or not any particular detector is good to use on specific targets or areas.

Then any modern detector will do, including the AT Pro.

I have my A.T. pro now and i tested a gold Quarter Stater on it and it was found by an E.Trac at 4 inches and that was a struggle ! but i tested the A.T and in air test it picked it up at 7 inches.
I then test a very very very thin gold chain and waved the chain in front of the A.T. and it picked it up though not deep but it will pick up the nuggets going by that.
I will use the A.T. in the next week or two on Brighton beach and see what it can do, but may not find much Sad the beach is very piled up in stones at the moment.

Looks like a really good machine.  I have and use the Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger which works on the 15kHz Groundhog circuit and is a top of the line machine.  The new AT Pro has many great things going for it, one of which is its ability to go under water to ten feet, a feature that has me looking at getting one but I am waiting for many of the real world field test that need to take place.
