Yes that is true, the pull tabs sound like rings and the bottle caps sound like coins, I found out that even with my old detector versus the new one, they still do the same things, only difference is that I can see now what it "Thinks" is there, when I only used to "Hear" what it thinks is down there. Also it is lot lot like scratch tickets, you know most of the time you shouldn't get something, but always hoping and that's the reason you buy more or in this case keep on searching, again, thank-you all for the info, and replies, anything you can tell me to make the decision making easier I  will always listen with open ears.

Very helpful info. I have been wanting a water detector and the comparisons really help. Now if I can just get my lazy butt out of the house and use the detectors I have, lol.

Ok, I ended up buying the Sea Hunter, and have been using it here in fresh water most of the summer and fall, but recently I took a trip to New Zealand, that was the reason for purchasing the water detector in the first place. Not having much practice with ocean detecting I stuck fairly close to shore approximately chest deep in the water. Found some coins and 2 rings and some collectable lead toy figurines. I did run into a problem at one of the beaches at the Tasiman Seaside, at a place called Port Whakatio or Sunset Beach, the entire beach is black and made up of volcanic material, and lots of iron content. Never having run into this problem set up a real dilema for me, the noise was always there, and lifting the coil from where I originally balanced it made for strong false signals. I did eventually work it out a bit, and was able to do some detecting with only minimal results. I am now wondering if the Infinium would have been the better choice or all of the water detectors act the same. Anyway, I had a blast, and am looking forward to the warm weather coming here soon.

The infinium would have been very good at that location for sure... the sea hunter would be going off the chart
